Thank you for your interest in the Pathway to Homeownership First Time Homebuyer Program. The loan pipeline for the program is almost full. If you require a soft second mortgage loan to make homeownership affordable, don’t give up your quest to become a homeowner. The Finance Authority will be transitioning into another soft second program very shortly featuring soft second financing for newly renovated and newly constructed Louisiana Land Trust Properties (LLT); commonly known as properties purchased by the State of Louisiana under the Road Home Program. This new $52,000,000 soft second loan program will be a joint venture with the Louisiana Recovery Authority/Office of Community Development and New Orleans Redevelopment Authority.

While we work on the details of this new program, we encourage you to continue to protect and/or improve your credit scores by paying all your bills on time; paying down high interest accounts as quickly as you can; hold off on buying a new car; and continue to use credit cards responsibly. We are here to help you along the path to homeownership.
